Australia Building Codes Board has just announced that all plumbing products in contact with drinking water comply with the new standard "lead content of 0.25%" in addition to the requirements of AS/NZS 4020, commencing on 1st of September 2022.

READ MOREThe last decade has seen countries around the world introduce and regulations around lead-content in our plumbing systems. In New Zealand, tapware and plumbing fittings have a lead limit of 4.5% across wetted surfaces under the AS/NZS4020 standard. Countries such as the U.S. have reduced this to 0.25% which emphasizes the importance of removing lead from our water and preventing the severe life-altering impacts that lead poisoning can have on communities.
